“Today, as the world marks the International Day of the Disappeared, our thoughts are with the family members of the missing and the disappeared. At numerous Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meetings in the South Ossetian theatre, I learned of the suffering of those families and friends who are still waiting to hear about the fate of their loved ones. I would urge everyone involved in the process of bringing about resolution to these issues, to make all timely efforts to ease the hearts of those affected.
The International Day of the Disappeared reminds us that the pain of uncertainty is the same for families from all over the world and from all communities. Resolving this issue is a key step towards reconciliation in Georgia”.
