To follow up EUMM activities on monitoring the freedom of movement of schoolchildren, Ambassador Andrzej Tyszkiewicz, the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission as part of a patrol from Field Office Zugdidi visited a public primary school on Tbilisi Administered Territory, near the Abkhaz Administrative Boundary Line (ABL). The school is attended by over one hundred pupils, almost half of whom cross the ABL from Abkhazia on a daily basis.
The headmaster and some parents of the pupils expressed appreciation for the work of EUMM, in particular their dialogue facilitation and the assistance they render in solving basic problems of freedom of movement.
