The ninth meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism took place in Gali on 17 November 2009. Georgian, Abkhaz, Russian and EUMM representatives attended under the auspices of the UN.
In a constructive atmosphere, participants reviewed recent alleged incidents and exchanged useful clarifications, whilst reiterating their continued concerns.
Once again, views and details about particular cases concerning the movement of the local population were raised. The issue of current and future crossing procedures and practices was discussed and information exchanged.
These discussions reflect the transparent nature of this process. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Gali on 9 December 2009.
