EUMM SIGNS TECHNICAL AGREEMENT WITH MINISTRY OF DEFENCE OF GEORGIA ON MEDICAL EVACUATION ASSISTANCE

On 5 Sep 2011 The First Deputy Minister of Defence for Georgia Mr Nodar Kharshiladze and the EUMM Head of Mission Mr Andrzej Tyszkiewicz signed a Technical Agreement (TA) with the Georgian Ministry of Defence which makes provision for helicopter medical evacuation assistance for EUMM personnel should they need to be transported from remote regions of the Mission area . Further technical assistance in relation to training will be provided by the Georgian MoD before it is fully implemented. The Status of Mission Agreement (SOMA) states that such assistance from the GEO Government should be provided to EUMM. The agreement demonstrates the continued cooperation between the Georgian Ministry of Defence and EUMM.
