On 18 July 2012, the EUMM Field Office Gori hosted a visit from the British Embassies to Georgia and to the Russian Federation. The guests joined a patrol to the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) in order to obtain detailed information about the current security situation on the ground and the EUMM’s contribution to the normalization process. In addition, the patrol briefed the British delegation on the legacy of the August 2008 war and its impact on the lives of the local population, including limitations on freedom of movement across the ABL.
