On 18 February Ambassador Andrzej Tyszkiewicz, Head of The European Union Monitoring Mission met Ambassador Antti Turunen, the United Nations Representative to the Geneva International Discussions and Chair of the Gali Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism. They exchanged information on the current security situation on the ground, issues related to human security and freedom of movement. It was noted that confidence building among the conflict parties is a key element for stability and agreed that they will continue their close working relations in the future.
