On 27 February EUMM Field Office Zugdidi received a visit from Charlotte Hunter, Political Officer from the British Embassy in Tbilisi and Stephen Leach, a visiting consultant from Northern Ireland.
The visitors had an informative discussion with the Operation Officer and the Human Security Team Leader of the Field Office. The main topics were issues related to the Administrative Boundary Line and possible confidence building measures. Subsequently, Ms Hunter and Mr Leach joined an EUMM patrol to the Enguri bridge, where they took the opportunity to talk directly to commuters and get an insight into the reality of the situation on the ground for the conflict-affected population.
