UK Defence Academy delegation visits Field Office Gori

On 15 January 50 students of the Advanced Staff Course at the UK Defence Academy visited EUMM’s Field Office in Gori. The students had previously spent a week in Georgia visiting military and political institutions.

EUMM Head of Operations Clive Trott and Chief of Gori Filed Office Hans Schneider welcomed the guests, briefed them about the Mission’s mandate and provided them with an overview of the current situation along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) with South Ossetia.

The students showed particular interest in the structure of a civilian mission such as EUMM and the specifics of implementing its mandate.

After the briefing the delegation joined a patrol to Administrative Boundary Line with South Ossetia in order to familiarise themselves with the situation on the ground.
