EUMM’s Field Office in Zugdidi hosts information sessions in schools

On 31 March and 1 April monitors from EUMM’s Field Office in Zugdidi organized information sessions about the Mission in the schools of Darcheli and Ganmukhuri, two villages located in the vicinity of the Administrative Boundary Line with Abkhazia. Approximately 100 pupils from grades 7 to 12 attended together with their teachers and school directors.

Monitors explained the Mission’s mandate and activities in the Western part of Georgia in an interactive presentation, which led a dynamic atmosphere, with lots of questions coming from the audience.

After the presentation, the pupils were offered to try on the monitors’ flak jackets and helmets. “Wearing that protective stuff, we feel like adults working for peace and security,” said a young female student.
