The Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sebastian Kurz, visited EUMM’s Field Office in Mtskheta on 11 September within the framework of an official visit to the Southern Caucasus. Mr. Kurz was accompanied by a delegation of Austrian officials, including Sylvia Meier-Kajbic, the Austrian Ambassador to Georgia, and key Austrian media representatives.
EUMM’s Chief of Staff, Silvia Zehe, and the Chief of the Mission’s Field Office in Mtskheta, Mat Whatley, briefed the Austrian Delegation about the Mission’s mandate and activities.
The Minister seized the opportunity to personally greet some of the eight Austrian members of the Mission, and showed particular interest in the living conditions of conflict-affected communities.
