Today, 9 June 2016, the EUMM Deputy Head of Mission, Erik Hoeeg welcomed Ms Nathalie Tocci to the Mission Headquarters in Tbilisi. Ms Tocci is Special Advisor on the new European Security Strategy, appointed by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Ms Tocci is in Tbilisi to inform and consult with Georgia, as partner country, before finalization of the draft European Security Strategy and presentation to The European Council. During her visit she meets with various Georgian ministries and authorities.
The Deputy Head of Mission provided Ms Tocci with an assessment of the security situation in Georgia including its breakaway regions and briefed her on the Missions’ mandate and its contribution to stabilisation, confidence building, and normalisation along the Administrative Boundary Lines.
Nathalie Tocci assists the High Representative in reaching out to think tanks and coordination of work on the coming European Security Strategy. She holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies and an PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
