On 17 May, Head of the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) Mr. Erik Høeg, visited D. Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy in Gori. In this context, he highlighted the invaluable importance of the EUMM-managed Hotline and the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meetings in Ergneti and Gali for maintaining stability on the ground and promoting human security. He also stressed the importance of continued full compliance of the Georgian Armed Forces with the Six-Point Agreement and additional arrangements. Mr. Høeg noted that the functional cooperation between the Georgian Ministry of Defence and the Mission remains very efficient. In the ensuing Q/A students showed significant interest in the Mission’s everyday work, its obstacles and future plans.

The EUMM Georgia is implementing an outreach programme to promote a deeper understanding of its work and mandate among key institutions, as well as the broader public.
