2022 was another challenging, busy year. EUMM continued patrolling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to ensure stability and promote peace. And we will carry on with doing so in 2023 and beyond.

Also this year, EUMM marked the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign and International Human Rights Day by various outreach activities with conflict-affected communities and youth along the Administrative Boundary Lines (ABLs).

On 14 December, Ambassador Marek Szczygieł will formally end his tenure as Head of the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia – a position he held from 15 March 2020.
