On 28 July, the 14th IPRM meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism took place in Dvani. The meeting was co-facilitated by the EUMM and the OSCE. This was the first meeting attended by the new Head of the EUMM, Ambassador Andrzej Tyszkiewicz.
Participants reviewed recent incidents, detentions and the situation concerning those who are in detention. Freedom of movement across the ABL was discussed. The possibility of inviting experts in conflict related communications to future meetings, to discuss specific subjects of interest, was raised. The issue of interaction with the media to ensure factually accurate reporting of particular incidents, to prevent tension, was discussed.
The meeting took place in a positive and constructive manner.
It was agreed that the next meeting will take place on 2 September 2011.
