The EUMM team, led by the Head of Mission Kestutis Jankauskas, attended the 40th Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meeting which took place in Gali today, 19 October 2016, facilitated by the United Nations.
The participants spent the whole day discussing numerous agenda items related to various incidents from several years ago to the most recent. Extensive efforts were given to find a way to bring to justice the suspected perpetrator of the tragic case, which happened in Khurcha on the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) with Abkhazia on 19 May this year.
Freedom of movement, alleged violations of the ABL and various criminal activities were also discussed in an open and pragmatic manner.
It was agreed that the next IPRM meeting in Gali will take place on 11 November.
