The 116th Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) took place in Ergneti today under the co-facilitation of the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM), Dimitrios Karabalis, and the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the South Caucasus, Viorel Moşanu.

Today, the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) welcomed a delegation from the Austrian Federal Council, led by Council President Ms. Claudia Arpa, for a visit to the Abkhaz Administrative Boundary Line (ABL).

Deputy Head of Mission Tibor Kozma, thoroughly informed the delegation about yesterday’s violent incident, where a Georgian citizen was shot and killed by Russian Federation Border Guards.

The EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) confirms that an incident occurred at the South Ossetian Administrative Boundary Line, resulting in the tragic loss of a Georgian citizens life. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
