Yesterday, 8 September 2016, the EUMM Deputy Head of Mission, Erik Hoeeg welcomed Lieutenant General Ben Hodges to the EUMM Headquarters in Tbilisi. General Hodges is Commanding General of the U.S. Army in Europe. He was accompanied by Deputy Commanding General, Major General Timothy McGuire, and a delegation.
The Deputy Head of Mission supported by Senior Mission Members briefed the delegation on the security situation. The briefing included the Missions’ mandate and its contribution to stabilisation, confidence building, and normalisation along the Administrative Boundary Lines.
General Hodges and several members of the delegation engaged actively in the Q&A session following the briefing. The General took time to commend the men and women serving in the Mission for their contribution to fulfilling the Mission’s mandate.
General Hodges is on a two-day visit to Georgia.
