On 20 July, Georgian, de facto Abkhaz, Russian and EUMM representatives attended the 19th Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meeting in Gali, under the auspices of the UN.

In a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, participants exchanged and clarified information about recent incidents, including ones that appeared to have occurred because of the lack of a clear separation line along the Enguri River. Also the incidents discussed during the previous meeting, especially ones involving a criminal element, were discussed and additional information exchanged. Participants agreed to follow up these cases during the time leading up to the next meeting.

The issue of unhindered freedom of movement across the Enguri River was once more discussed. Participants discussed the present procedures and forthcoming planned changes that may have an affect on the freedom of movement and the livelihood of the local population in the future.

It was agreed that the next meeting will take place in Gali on 14 September 2010.
