On 12 May 2011, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, Karel Schwarzenberg, paid a visit to the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia.
The EUMM Interim Head of Mission, Jussi Saressalo, and the Field Office Gori Chief, Manfred Mayer, briefed Minister Schwarzenberg on the achievements and challenges, and environment in which the Mission operates.
The delegation went on a patrol with the Field Office Gori to the check point at Ergneti at the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) with South Ossetia. They discussed the security situation on both sides of the Administrative Boundary Line.
Minister Schwarzenberg expressed appreciation and support to the Mission’s work and contribution to stabilisation in the region.
