On 23 March the EU Monitoring Mission participated in the thirty-fifth meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) in Gali, chaired by the United Nations.
Within an information session a UN expert provided information on possibilities of local cooperation in the fight against crime. The participants addressed the security situation on the ground and discussed a number of incidents, including killings, a shooting and detentions. The meeting took place in a professional, businesslike atmosphere.
The next IPRM meeting will take place in Gali on 24 April 2012.
