EUMM Photo Exhibition - successful tour continues in Mtskheta

16.10.2012
The EUMM Photo Exhibition - "Life along the Line - Portraits from the ABL" culminated at the Mtskhetoba festival on 14 October 2012, when hundreds of visitors from all over Georgia and abroad saw the poignant photos by the EUMM monitor Ray Cooper from Field Office Gori.

The venue of the exhibition was next to the central Svetitskhoveli Church, the main place of interest for tourists visiting Mtskheta. The EUMM and its Field Office Mtskheta were well represented during the celebrations. Many visitors to the exhibition were openly moved by the photos. For many of them they were an eye-opener of the difficult living conditions of the people living along the Administrative Boundary Line.

Mtskhetoba is a popular annual festival where thousands of people flood into Mtskheta to see colourful dance and music performances. The festival also features Orthodox church services at Svetitskhoveli Church, street vendors offering homemade handicrafts, carnival goods, shashlik and candyfloss.

The Photo Exhibition had been on display in Mtskheta since 5 October. It will continue its tour to Gori, where it will be open from 20 - 28 October 2012. From Gori it will travel to Zugdidi.
