Hiroki Tokunaga, Chargé d’Affaires at the Japanese Embassy in Georgia has visited the Headquarters and Field Office Zugdidi of the EU Monitoring Mission. At the HQ the visitor was welcomed by Gerard A. Fischer, the Deputy Head of Mission. Being new in his position, Mr Tokunaga was briefed about the general security situation, the mandate and work of the Mission, as well as current challenges and achievements. At Field Office Zugdidi the guest took the opportunity to get an insight into Mission activities on the ground, especially along the Administrative Boundary Line. Mr Tokunaga is also planning to visit the Field Offices in Mtskheta and Gori to further familiarise with the work of EUMM.
