German Police Training Centre students visit EUMM

On 13 May a group of 16 students and staff of the Police Staff Officers Training Centre in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany visited EUMM headquarters in Tbilisi. The visit to EUMM HQ was part of a four day visit to Georgia between 12 and 16 May.

At the arrival the group was welcomed by Mr. Ryan Grist, Deputy Head of EUMM and received a general briefing on the Mission’s mandate, its activities and the current situation along the Administrative Boundary Lines (ABL) with South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The German delegation also visited Mtskheta Field Office on 14 May, where it was welcomed by Head of Field Office Mtskheta Matt Whatley.

Later on the group joined a patrol to the ABL with South Ossetia to have first-hand knowledge on the effects and impact of borderisation affecting the people living adjacent to ABL. The delegation also visited Tserovani IDP centre to familiarize themselves with the current state of living conditions of affected by the conflict people.
