27.11.2014
On 26 November, EUMM spoke to a group of students about the work of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) in Georgia. The event took place at the Caucasus International University in the framework of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) project “Youth OSCE Network”. IPRM meetings are co-chaired by the OSCE and EUMM.

The Deputy Head of EUMM Ryan Grist presented information about the Mission’s mandate and activities and the essential role of the IPRM in building confidence between parties and addressing the concerns of conflict-affected communities in a pragmatic manner.

The discussion was lively and touched on a wide range of issues related to conflict resolution and conflict management in Georgia. Students also showed a great deal of interest in the challenges faced by conflict management practitioners, while Deputy Head of Mission shared his insights from the wealth of his personal experience working around the globe.
