The EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) Field Office Zugdidi (FOZ) hosted the 63rd Information Sharing Meeting (ISM). The meeting, which was opened by the Head of FOZ, Hakan Rapp, included fourteen women and one man, representing several local and international organisations. The EUMM participants provided an overview of recent ‘borderisation’ activities, developments in the Administrative Boundary Line crossing regime, and other issues affecting the freedom of movement of people crossing the Administrative Boundary Line with Abkhazia.
In support of the 16 Days of Activism campaign, one local NGO delivered a comprehensive presentation on Gender-based violence in Georgia and shelters for victims of domestic violence. The participants expressed significant interest in the topic and engaged in an insightful discussion following the presentation.
The next ISM organised by EUMM FOZ is expected to take place on 31 January 2018.
