Recently, the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) Human Security Team from Field Office Zugdidi, hosted the 66th Information Sharing Meeting (ISM).
The 66th ISM gathered ten representatives (eight female and two male) from various non-governmental organizations (NGO) and officials from Zugdidi Municipality.
Mr. Mikkel Mitchell, Field Office Zugdidi Human Security Deputy Team Leader, opened the meeting and welcomed the guest speaker and participants of the meeting.
Mr. Karl Nilsson, representative of Reporting and Information Office at the Field Office Zugdidi, updated the participants on the EUMM activities on the ground.
Ms. Nino Inasaridze, representing REAP NGO (Restoring Efficiency to Agricultural Production) gave a presentation on the situation regarding the infestation of Brown Marmorated Stink Bug. REAP has been working in close cooperation with the Georgian National Food Agency to create the current strategy to fight the stinkbug. Ms. Inasaridze hopes that the level of awareness among small-scale farmers will result in a better harvest this year.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the EUMM Georgia for having this forum to discuss and share useful information.
The next ISM in Zugdidi is scheduled to take place at the end of June.
