Head of EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia “meets” Chair of Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee

Respecting “social distancing” measures in place for preventing the spread of COVID-19, the Head of EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, Marek Szczygieł, “met” online the Chair of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Irakli Beraia, for an introductory talk today.

Mr Szczygieł provided an overview of the Missions continuing implementation of its mandate during the pandemic. He also stressed that the commitment of EUMM monitors on the ground, patrolling and reporting 24/7, remains unchanged.

Mr Beraia expressed appreciation for the role of the Mission in monitoring events along the Administrative Boundary Lines, as well as keeping the international community informed on the situation.
